The former blacksmith's forge of the famous Wheal Owles tin mine, this
superb granite property has been completely renovated to provide a very
comfortable holiday home in the very heart of one of the most famous
mining areas in the world.
Located on a hilltop with panoramic views
over the Atlantic, the barn is attached to the old 'Count House' and is
situated just a few feet away from the majestic and now sadly derelict,
engine house of the mine.
Wheal Owles was closed down after a major
disaster in 1893 which claimed the lives of twenty local men and whose
bodies still remain in the flooded shafts as a permanent memorial.
The
barn sits alongside the 'Tinners Way' walk and the South West Coastal
path and is therefore ideally suited to those guests who wish to
further explore the rugged coastline of this World Heritage site and to
further appreciate the breathtaking scenery which surrounds this
property.
