Set in open countryside on the outskirts of the village of Sancreed, Newington Farmhouse is a traditional granite cottage with inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings and wooden floors. It has a large garden with spectacular views towards Mounts Bay and the Lizard, and off-road parking.
Sancreed Churchtown is ideally situated half way between the sandy
beaches of the north coast and the sheltered bays of the south coast of
Cornwall. The expansive surf beach of Sennen and the picturesque coves
of Porthcurno and Lamorna are all within a short drive, and Lands End
itself is only 6 miles away. The fishing port of Newlyn with its vibrant
harbour is just three miles away whilst the busy market towns of
Penzance and St. Just are nearby. The gardens of both Trengwainton and
Trewidden are only a few minutes drive from the cottage and the parish
has a long and fascinating history.
For those who want to tour around, pretty St Ives and the spectacular open air Minack Theatre are within reach; the acclaimed Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a few of the delights a little further afield; and day trips to the Isles of Scilly leave from both Penzance and Lands End.
Offering peace and tranquillity Newington Farmhouse can be your cosy hideaway or a perfect position from which to explore all that West Penwith has to offer.
The rear porch opens into a fully fitted kitchen with ample
crockery/cutlery and cooking equipment. A stable door leads into the
sitting/dining area which has a pine table and fitted settle, two
settees and a large wood-burning stove. This front room opens out onto a
glazed front porch which leads onto a terrace. A second games/reading
room provides further ground floor space.
Upstairs has a landing with three bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, chest of drawers, bedside cupboards and an open alcove for hanging clothes. The second, twin bedroom has a chest of drawers and bedside cupboards and the third, small room has a single bed and a chest of drawers. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, bath and shower facilities.
Outside there is a large well-maintained cottage garden with garden furniture and stunning views of open countryside sloping down to St. Michael's Mount.
