‘Gwestva' (Cornish for hospitality) is a tastefully converted, self-contained, traditional granite outbuilding, providing stylish and affordable accommodation, perfect for one or two leisure and pleasure seekers looking for a holiday in the far west of Cornwall. With its high beamed ceiling and soft decor it provides a light and airy environment which offers under-floor heating for the cooler months and solar-reflective blinds for those welcome sunny months.
Gwestva has been thoughtfully arranged to maximise the space and the facilities include:
cooker, hob, microwave, fridge (with freezer storage in the summer-house), all the usual utensils;
double-bed, table and chairs, sofa;
attractive and spacious shower room;
wi-fi on request, cd player/radio; freeview t.v., blue ray/dvd player;
books and guides;
bedside cabinets with reading lights, chest of drawers and storage ;
use of body boards and bikes;
free heating and lighting.
We're lucky enough to live in a hamlet on a working farm with private gardens and open views to Chapel Carn Brea. You can fly to the Scillies from Lands End airport a couple of miles away or, if you prefer, just catch distant views from the bottom field.
Gwestva is set in our extensive grounds of over three acres. There's a private area of garden with picnic table set aside for guests’ own use. Sadly, our tame fox is no longer with us but Spike and Khan, our two Alpacas, will be happy to see you and our four free-range chickens love attention as much as you’ll love their free-range eggs.
The village of St Buryan is a short walk away with a pub, post-office, shop, garage, community centre, farmers’ market and impressive church.
We want to get it right because we hope to build the kind of relationship with our guests which means they become regulars.
We are letting Gwestva at a reduced tariff this year
It's been such a pleasure and privilege to be the first visitors to this magical place. You have made such a lovely, light and airy holiday home.
Gwestva must be stunning in the spring and summer. I must come back.....
Being able to sit out in 'our' garden and seeing the sun set/the storm set in!
well-stocked kitchen - all the equipment we needed and more.
Lovely, comfy bed; loved the light and airy 'loft' feel of the open ceiling.
Peaceful setting, lovely garden and sunsets
You looked after us so well - thankyou.
